Default Seatbelt bracket on headrest

So today I got out of my '02 WS6 and bumped into the bracket on the side of the headrest that guides the shoulder/seatbelt. Just went 'tink', and broke.

So can I just buy the plastic bracket? Probably not as the seat belt goes through it. Do I have to buy the whole seatbelt assembly for that side?

I'm trying to keep the car mostly original and having a part broken kind of freaks me out. What do I need to buy and where?

That piece is 7 dollars from gm. And are easy to break with any pressure.

You should be able to get one. To replace it, you need to unbolt the seatbelt which attatches with a t-60 bolt if memory serves me correctly.

I did the same thing last year, tried driving without it but it got annoying. Eventually, I got a replacement from gmpartsdirect, wasn't too expensive, but the shipping costed more than the part. You can buy the guide by itself.

I remember seeing one that a guy made out of metal that actually ran the belt at a lower angle. Wish someone or a company would jump in and start making them. I'd replace my plastic ones even though they're not broken.

I'm almost 100% sure it's a T-50.

You can also buy the ones used on the convertibles, which have an opening slot to insert the belt, ..., & not have to mess with the bolt.

6le sells a leather strap that will most likely work on the factory seats.

It's 30bux though, but looks better than the plastic thing sticking out.

Yeah, it EASILY mounts in place of factory guides (you just screw it in with the factory screws)...

I was going to mention it in here then I saw the OP wanted to keep it as factory as possible... Thanks though for spreading the gospel Torque Fiend

I just went to the dealer a few weeks ago and bought one. I bought the convertable one though because I wanted the opening in it. I think all total it was around 10-15 bucks. Plus with the vert one, you don't have to take off the seat belt, simply put this one on and you can cut the broken one off

Seems like that would take more time than just taking the one bolt out and slipping it through

Kinda makes you wonder why GM didn't cast those stupid guides in a more flexible plastic compound that would have been harder to snap off. Mine broke because my fat a$$ pushed against in when trying to enter the car in a tight parking space. After that I super glued it and it broke over and over again. I'm waiting for USPS to deliver a new one from Rick's Camaro. Base price was $20, but it cost $28 with shipping and CA sales tax.
