I haven't taken mine off yet, but I think all you need to do is take out the push tacks that are in the wheel wells. Then there are just bolts underneath the car that go down. It shouldn't take more than 2 hours for both sides. Most of that will probably be cleaning up the goo. I would say use some goo gone. That stuff works like a charm. That's what I'll be doing anyways. Anyone else who has already completed it care to chime in?

Uhh... there's nothing in the wheel wells holding the molding on.

get a hair dryer and some fishing line or dental floss... heat the front edge a little and work the string of choice behind the molding... then peel it back with your finger tips GENTLY. keep heating and peeling all the way down the line till you're done... get off any excess goo you can by hand, then hit it with some goo gone or bug and tar remover. Took me about 2 hours o do the whole car, take your time.

One more thing that will work great for removing the adhesive is WD-40.

Just like Phil and Mongoose said. Heat the area with a hair dryer, peel off badge, peel off glue then use some WD-40 to remove glue residue. Follow up with a mild polish to remove any swirls and make the newly exposed area blend with the surronding panel.

the best way not to do it: when the car is cold...also do not spend 3 hours removing the tape by hand...youll get blisters on you fingers...lots.

Remember to listen to this board. Use a hair dryer, and patience. I'm not a patient person, so I thought a heat gun would do it quicker. There is now a REASON why you won't see any pix of my poor, suffering baby yet.

Oh man i am pissed, i just removed some of the molding and it looks like the paint has actually been damaged by the molding . Looks like they somehow scratched the paint. Maybe i can buff it out with some rubbing compound.

Well i just got done with the drivers side and it turns out that it was only the piece between the two air vents that had damaged paint, the rest was fixed with some polish. It looks really nice . I haven't removed the trans am logos yet. would that look even better, or should they stay?

huh, for some reason when I lookedn at it last it looked like there was a push tack in each wheel well. I've been trying to decide if the trans am on the door would look better there or off. I have the silver "trans am" emblems I was going to put on but I don't know if I even want it on there.
