Pop-Up headlight problem Ok, I am having a problem with my drivers side pop-up headlamp on my 98 TA. Here is the deal, when i turn on the lights, it wont pop up, but sometimes i can turn the switch back and forth to on and off and they will pop up. So anyone who is familiar with TAs there is a manual **** just behind the headlam that you can turn to crank the headlight up. Well i turned that a little, and then turned on the headlamps, and voila! they popped up. So when I turned them off, HUGE PROBLEM. The headlamp closed but the motor kept running and kept trying to push the headlight down until it finally stopped. Now it does that everytime i shut off my lights. Please post with any ideas/suggestions, or past occurences you would like to share, thx in advance.

Re: Pop-Up headlight problem u need a new motor....the same thing happened to my friends car and pontiac fixed it free of charge.....after your warranty runs out thats gonna cost like 3 bills....
Re: Pop-Up headlight problem there is a FREE fix for this--there is a gear inside the motor and the teeth have worn off on one side of it. all you have to do is rotate the gear 180 degrees and it should fix it. pop the headlights up and disconnect the battery (lights are in the up position). remove the 10mm nut that holds the headlight "arm" to the driveshaft. pop the arm off the shaft and then rotate the driveshaft 180 degrees (using the manual turn **** on top). once the shaft has moved 180, then put the arm and nut back on. that's it!
