When I bought the tailights, I picked up the LT1 harness as well...figured it would make it easier...WRONG!!!!
The LT1 harness does not have the baby blue wire for the brake lights. The brake light signal is pushed through the turn signal switch on the LT1 car. It would take alot of work rewiring the harness to make it fly, so I scrapped the idea. FYI, I would recommend you do not purchase the harness for the swap as it not needed.
So what I did was pretty much what everyone else has done...notched out the large hole for the 2 tail/turn bulb sockets on each LT1 tailight. ( The backup and marker light sockets fit perfect as is )
In order to get the entire tailight to light, I simply purchased 2 additional sockets from the parts store, gutted it for the weather pack connectors I needed, pulled the plug from the center of the LS1 harness and slid in the new wire.
Soldered and heatshrinked everything up....now it's all good!

can you give some more details of how you made teh wiring work?
i have a pair of lt1 tails in the shop, just can't figure out how to wire them up.
maybe a few pics or a diagram for the wiring mods needed?
thanks
tony
