God, i didn't think they were that bad. though i'm real tired of mine now. taking them off this summer. And they have always been on stupid cars.
Also the first time I saw them was CF ones on a C5 vette. Pure sex, so I needed em stat. For me it made me wish my car looked less catfishy and more shark-like.
werd.. they can be on a vette... considering they still come stock on those bishes (check 2010 grand sport, 2007 Ron Fellows), but on anything but a vette. I cry a little bit.
One thing I could never stand about those stripes is how they were only on one side of the car. Made it look only half done? Not my cup of tea especially when done on an F-Body let alone anything else.
i liked mine. I may be weird. Whatever. This was about 4 years ago. i think in the passing time they may have become overdone outdated whatever, but back then i got nothing but compliments. And i liked it then, and if i ever have another LS1 ill do it again. I have an LT! WS6 now and i dont like them on the LT1 front end.

look up their history, they're not for looks.
When the original Grand Sports ran at Nassau in the fall of 1963,
three different colors were used on tape on the front cowl of the cars to help identify them as they passed the pits
BUT WAIT, theres more....the truth behind many thoughts
No Corvette Grand Sports ever used a contrasting color on the front fenders to identify itself as it sped past the pits back in 1963 or 1964
and the kicker...
The original Corvette Grand Sports did use identifying colors to distinguish themselves from their teammates, but the tape was used on the nose of the car, not the fenders. The team that used the fender slashes was the Shelby American Cobra team, not any of the Corvette Grand Sport teams
