depends on the look you want. with flat/matte black the car will keep a nice, subtle look, yet they are a very nice touch when you notice them. where as silver or charcoal stripes give a somewhat more flashy look, that will get more attention.
what kind of rims are you getting. silver/charcoal stripes would look good with chrome/polished rims. the black stripes would look great with a set of nice black rims/polished lip. (thats what i'd do if i were you). but really, both stripes would look good with either rims, so it really just depends on whether you want a more flashy look or more subtle
ceta mod should stay off black T/A's, my opinion.

For a black car, flat black is probably the worst color choice possible. They would blend in way too much with the rest of the car to the point that they won't be noticeable unless you are standing right next to the hood of the car, even then you'd probably have to do a double take under certain lighting. I personally went with white blackbird stripes on my car and I love the way they look. I think with a black car you couldn't go wrong with any just about any color you choose except for colors that are very dark.

^you gotta see some pictures of some black on black cars, it is AMAZING. if i weren't about to sell my car i'd put some on there.
it is a subtle touch though. it doesnt scream out, look at me, i have stripes!!! its just a nice simple touch that gets noticed, like you said, in the right light.

I just ordered some metallic black, black bird stripes for my Raptor Hood on my NBM TA. I know they wont stand out, which is exactly what I want. It will look exactly like how my CETA rear bumper does and my hood scoop/side vents/filler panel.
