Mr. Steve2000SS, or anyone else, paint question within' My fiance has a red '98 Camaro (still has it Steve, couldnt get her to buy yours or a new one lol) and the paint is in rough shape. It has some oxidation and a lot of fine scrathches. Will the clay bar remove the oxidation? And then whats the best rubbing compound to get those scratches out? Thanks

Re: Mr. Steve2000SS, or anyone else, paint question within' The clay bar will work great for getting out the oxidation, you can get the one from Mothers from just about any auto parts store, it comes in a kit. Then you can use a fine rubbing compound from like 3M or Meguiers to get out the fine scratches. Once completed cover the car with your favorite protectant and stand back and admire your work. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
Re: Mr. Steve2000SS, or anyone else, paint question within' Clay bar will work well. If you are comfortable with a high speed buffer, use 3M Swirl Mark Remover or Meguires #9 and go over the car with a FOAM, not wool pad. Car will be as close to new as you can get it.

Re: Mr. Steve2000SS, or anyone else, paint question within' Basicly what Andy said.. Claybar then a good 3M polish with a foam pad orbital.. maybe twice depending on the condition of the paint.. finish with a nice coat of Gold Class <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Im going to try the clay and some 3M by hand, she needs it back today and the wheels are getting polished so its sitting on jack stands right now. But if I cant get it right, could I bring it by this weekend? I'll of course pick up the 3M and some beer <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> .
