I need a WS6 hood for my girlfriends birthday. I already read about a hundred Suncoast Creations horror stories so it's gonna be the ASCD or the Factory. Some people claim that ASCD makes the hoods for GM but I called and they don't. Although, they did use a GM hood for a mold. What I'm thinking is if ASCD used the hood for a mold then it will be identical. The only other drawback is if the material is crap. Is the hood gonna look wavy even if it is only under certain light? The guy at ASCD, who was VERY nice, told me that the bumper and fenders would have to be adjusted. Thats fine but I don't want to do it if I don't have to. If I did get a factory hood, could this still be needed or would it just bolt right on with no fitment problems?
Here's the deal, I can get a ASCD hood for 875 shipped or a factory hood for 900 but I have to drive 12 hours round trip. WOULD IT BE WORTH IT? Also consider the gas ($60), wear and tear on the car (beater) and my sanity. Thanks fellas.

If you can get a new WS6 hood for $900 go for it. I heard that hood retails for $1500. If the difference between the two hoods is $50.00 then get the GM hood. If the ASCD hood is wavy, you may spend more money to repair it prior to painting. Where are you located? I work at a BMW dealer but we also have 15 other stores including GM.
