1. Don't f*ck with a man's woman.
2. Don't f*ck with a man's car.
The order is sometimes open for debate. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
1. 3M Finesse-it II finishing material.
2. 1500 grit wet sanding disks.
3. Sanding spool.
4. 1/4" pinstriping tape.
5. Spray bottle with water and a touch of dish soap in it.
6. Touch-up paint ( I'm guessing purple in your case.
7. Clear touch-up paint.
Place the tape as close to the edge of the scratch as you can without covering the scratch itself. Take you touch-up paint and apply a thin coat of color, just enough to cover the scratch, remove tape. I like to let the paint dry over night even thu you could do it sooner, place the tape now about an 1/8" or closer to where you have repaired the scratch. Put two thin coats ( allow 20 minutes between coats ) of clear over the repaired area, remove tape once you put on the last coat of clear. Let the paint dry over night, take the sanding spool with a 1500 sanding disk and wet it down with the spray bottle. Spray the scratch with the water bottle, lightly sand the repaired area in the same direction as the scratch. While your sanding keep spraying that area, change the disk when ever you think it has built up paint on it. Only sand until you have the clear flush with the rest of the cars paint ( wipe dry ever so often to check how you're doing ), a point here, do not sand any farther out then the repaired area. Use the 3M Finesse-it to polish out the painted repair.
I would suggest you try this method someplace like under the hood to make sure you're comfortable with doing this.
You should be able to find these items at your local auto paint supply store, I've enclosed a few pictures to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. Good luck.

Sorry for the poor picture, the tape is wider then 1/4" in the picture.
