Help! Scratch Windshield How to repair??
During one of the rainstorms out there, my wiper went askew and put a nice 7 inch scratch in my glass
Its a surface scratch made by a clip for the blade.
Anyone know about glass repair? I believe this can be fixed without replacing the whole windshield.
Anyone with experience with this problem?
Thanks!!
Is there a corellation between her scratching my windshield and becoming my Ex? Hmmmm?
I used mothers aluminum polish (since it's gritty) and buffed on the scratch with that, then I finished it off with Zanio glass polish. You can't tell it was ever scratched.
That sounds odd..
I'm not saying its crazy..
I just can't imagine using anything abrasive..thats if it really is abrasive...
Here is a pic to give you an idea of how bad it is..

From the pic..it doesnt 'seem' too bad...but from inside the car, and its shear length drives me up a wall!!!
Anymore thoughts?
Is there anything commercially available at part part stores that may help?
I'd like to take care of this next weekend...
Thanks guys!

The stuff the pro's use to remove scratches is abrasive - it's a powder that they mix with water and it makes gritty paste. All you are doing is polishing the scratched area to a get it back clear. Just try a small spot and see how it does, if it work's then do the whole thing.
