Default LT1 Dash Same as LS1?

I searched this but didn't come up with anything. I was wondering if its possible to use a 97 LT1 upper dash on a 99 ls1? Mines all cracked to hell and I was going to take it off and fix the cracks and wrap it but it just got even worse when attempting to remove but I was looking at a Trans Am with my buddy earlier and found two totalled 97 lt1 camaro's and the dash are perfect! Even though one was rolled and the other has the engine shoved into the front seats. They look the same as mine in my 99 but I wanna be sure they'll fit before I make an offer.

Thanks,
Zac

I'm 99% sure the only difference between the dash on the '97 cars vs. the '98+ was the analog vs. digital odometer. You should be good to go I would think. You should get a second opinion from someone who has already done the swap though.

Good luck!

Well I only need the upper part, I dont need the hole dash. Just the peice that is always cracked on F-bodies. It looks exactly the same other then maybe a slight color difference but I just wanna make sure its the same. If I can get it for cheap then I wouldn't mind if it didnt fit as I could sell it for the correct one but I dont wanna drop a bunch on it and it not fit.

That should swap fine, appearance wise they're 93-96, and 97-02

97 on up had the same dash, even the digital odometer.

Yep , you can . 97 is when GM made the little contour change by the defrost vent for the new(then camaro dash) and it carried to the TA's too . The 93-96's TA upper dash that looks 99.999% identical is what wont work on the 97-02 Camaros or firebirds . 97 is the same lighter(than charcoal or ebony anyways) medium grey color as a 99 too .
