OEM Style tips

Stainless center tips

I'm leaning towards the stainless center tips that have the thinner lip because i feel it would go well with my chrome wheels. Any thoughts?

black_sheep454 03-29-2010 10:21 AM

I like the stainless ones

Charlay 03-29-2010 10:26 AM

i just like the thicker look of the OEM style ones

Irish350 03-29-2010 02:23 PM

word, i like the cast look cause the stainless (or any thin wall) is more obviously 'custom'

if you like that look its a great piece though. i also like the 1 big single outlet mark makes

I had those OEM polished ones before. I got it from ebay. However, they're not truly OEM just to let you know.

Spd-Kilz 03-29-2010 02:39 PM

OEM Style!

bill12690 03-29-2010 02:42 PM

to be honest the only ones i've ever liked were the OEM ones, the stainless just seem too thin to me.. I have some of the thicker polished OEM style ones, but still don't have a valence..

Trans Am Jam 03-29-2010 03:06 PM

damn! i never knew how expensive these things were... I would go w/ the OEM ones.

GENE510SS 03-29-2010 03:15 PM

oem for sure!

twitchtwice 03-29-2010 04:55 PM

yeah, i know they arent slp oem. but they are oem style. and its kind of weird i like the SS ones because they are thin.

i wonder what the 2.5" ss ones look like. it almost seems like the 3" is a little bit too big for the valance and to me it kinda throws off the look a little.

6LITEREATER 03-29-2010 05:21 PM

I'm running the 3" SS CME with lip because I have a dual 3"exhaust (MAC mids with flanges cut off replaced with V bands so straight 3" to 3", then bullet cats, H-Pipe, dual 3" over axle).

Without the CME, it was honestly too loud and annoying. With the CME it sounds PERFECT.

That extra piping smooths the flow out (like Mustangs have since their mufflers are further back). I like the SS CME because it doesn't impede, OEM CME gets a little raspy...

I have the lip on mine though and even the wife thought they looked good.

The 3" is a little big but on the car on the ground you don't notice it. Only in these crouched down rear shots do you notice.

However, if you don't have true dual 3" like me I would just go 2.5"...

They definitely are expensive though. I JUST FINALLY put a CME with these tips on my own car LAST WEEK as, sadly, I never had the extra money for them before  !

I just got the cheaper ebay ones. $100, which is still too much for tips IMO but I'd kick my own ass if I paid $300+ for tips.

What CME tips did you get on ebay for $100?!?! We're talking actual CME, not the split dual tips...

TS6 03-29-2010 05:59 PM

These: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-PAIR-Camaro-...item2306267a4d

Now there's some better ones with the side entry for $130, I would have gotten those if they were on there at the time. If I didn't already have a nice caback I would have just used the big single with one entry.

Just the ones like you sell with the inlets in the back. Isn't that normal pricing for those?

I don't think you're talking about the same tips... I think you're talking about these:

Right. Those are $130 on ebay now. Like I said, had they been available when I bought mine I would have definitely got those instead. My buddy has an exhaust shop and made these work no sweat, but it would have been easier with the other setup. We did the same thing and welded a brace between the tips.

I like those stainless ones better myself, alot of guys don't, but they look kinda "racy" lol. But still too much $$$ for tips.

TS6 03-29-2010 06:14 PM

Here's a better deal IMO, and there's one for $160 w/o the elbows, not as good a deal.

6LITEREATER 03-29-2010 06:14 PM

^^Yeah that's what I thought. I've been trying to find a cheap supplier for OEM style CME but no luck. There's a guy on ebay a little cheaper than what I even pay but his $hit breaks too much for me to carry it.

Those tips are nice though. Just no room for them under my car...

That's one of the guys. Cheap Chinese crap and the brace breaks a LOT...
