No pics on the car because it is at speedworks shop geting turbos. And then new paint before winter. The pics are not the best because it is had to get a picture of a metallic paint then the fash goes off the door looks polished but at night the door looks black. Oh and I did have it clear coated to protect it. And I sent a pic of the back side to so you can show mounting. The paint used is a little to dark for most peoples taste but I have black rear panel and black stripe, howevere wanted it to still look like a metal.

hey justin thanks for posting the pics up. I noticed that you have great taste with designing/modifying the appearance of the trans am (like the other post you have on shaving the bird and the pontiac on the headlight).
Which gas cover do you think should I go for? you dont happen to think of a better design for me to go for do you ?
Im getting the gas cover plain just like the one 2FAST4U had (before he painted it). Im thinking of changing it from there on. What do you think?

I bought one, havent installed it yet/pending
It is really well made and has a very solid locking system, comes with allen bolts/aluminum funnel/ring ect ect its complete
:note: you will need a body shop to install it,
Its smaller than the stock lid.
Looks more subtle than that pos eclipse thing and is a better product.
i may sell mine cause its like 400$ - $700 Installed/painted , shops differ so look around if this door is what you really want..

The sparco door does not work. has no bend a body shop could make it fit but when you look down the panel it would look wavie. I have Sparco seat and steering wheel and had fuel door but didn't fit so I sent it back. Not that the eclipse door fits!!

hold on the eclipse door fits ... its just that its not a bolt on replacement thats all. All it needs is a few drilling here and there no big deal.
Please. Correct me if im wrong...

it fits with allot of cutting. on the car and tne door. when GM makes the rear panels the opening is stretched. Every car is different so if you need to cut the door then you will need to refinish the door, because the finish is like crome there is nickle then the brushed coating. it will clip off sooner or later if the outer lip is sanded down. So for that perfect fit you need to do alloy more

I was told on an other post about the fuel door that nothing really needs 'cutting' ? Some one told me that all I need to do is drill a few holes here and there (for the screws) but as far as cutting the door itself or anything else is not necessary. I believe the post was called Aluminum Gas Door ? Im not so sure here.
I was also told the new fuel door would perfectly flush with no cutting whatsoever.
Did you already try doing that? I noticed you said that the sparco fuel door didnt fit. Did you try working with this fuel door?
I got the fuel door in today. Ill hopefully try to get it installed perfectly. If not ill keep you guys posted.

Just trust me test fit before paint! I cut and sanded for about a month and my friend owns a body shop. We changed are mind about 100 time for real on where in was hitting and the fit. We used digital measuring tool of all kind. In the end for the perfect fit (flush top and bottom) same looking bend we cut 95% of the lip (on fender) all the way around the fuel hole. So the second lip on the door sits on the angled in hole edge. Sound wierd but if you paint it and it does not fit (then you will cut all the fender lip) and it still may not fit. The door is bigger than the hole in two spots and you can only change the door. IT IS ONE OF THOSE ONE END IN OTHER POPS OUT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. You just want to hit it in.

2FAST4U, You are a 100% correct. I do need to put it on before I start painting it. I am a perfectionist myself so as much info I can get out from you the better.
one more thing, do trans ams have the same size and shape of the fuel door and fender of the camaro?
Do you think Ill also need to go through all the hassle (sp?) to get it perfectly put on. Also do I need to change the bolts? someone mentioned I need longer ones?
