Keepin it clean where the sun dont shine. I have a 98 TA thats kinda dirty, ok filthy under the hood. Whats a good way I can clean this up (with everything still attached) where it looks semi good. I was told to go to one of those pressure wash car washes but I'm too scared to get water where it doesnt belong and doing it by hand isnt proving any better.
Also, I have some rust under the battery
(damn O'reilly POS leaking battery, I now have a new one). I've tried many of things to get the rust to leave. Some of the good solvents, sanding, primering ect... but it always seems to some back. does anyone know of anything that will help before I have a huge hole?

Re: Keepin it clean where the sun dont shine. You can try "POR 15" for the area under your battery. POR = Paint Over Rust. Ive seen articles on it in CarCraft and HotRod. Unfortunately I dont know where to get it. Maybe someone else can help you there.

Re: Keepin it clean where the sun dont shine. I find that spraying the engine compartment, and I mean soaking, down with Simple green and letting it sit for a few minutes then rinsing works great. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: Keepin it clean where the sun dont shine. POR 15 is excellent stuff. I have used it on the rear of my ss, the floor pan and rear on my Impala, it neutralizes the rust and is tough as nails.
