Default wheels

How big of a tire can I go with 18" rims? I want to go 275 for up front but what about the rear? 18 x 11 295 or 305? Will the 305's rub? I know that I have to go down to a 30 profile.

Thanks

You shouldn't go less than 35 for the sidewall. Otherwise you will have to recalibrate the speedo to accomodate for the lower sidewall. You should not have any problems with rubbing if you have the correct offset. You could actually go 315. It's been done on plenty of 4th gens. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Yeah but people who run the 315's are using them on 17 x 11 rims. I was told that having 18's would give me better stability. But I really want the 17's just to fit the 315's in the rear. Wouldn't having a wider tire give me better stability anyways? I wanna go 17 x 11 315 35 for the rear. I think that 18's would be a pain, harder to hook and much more expensive. Any other thoughts out there?

It's merely a percentage of the tire width which means you can go to a lower sidewall number (40,35,30) and keep the same/close tire diameter by going with a wider tire.

Obviously you reach a point where you can't go any wider without some modifications. A 305/30/18 is only 1.72% smaller diameter than stock which means when your speedo says 60mph, you'll only be going about 59mph.

Visibly, there's less than a 1/2" difference in height.
