I bought one of the hood scoop decals from Jay at Custom Vehicle Graphics. What's the best way to apply it? Can you apply it to a wet surface, work out the bubbles then just let it dry?
TIA

You got it clean area get realy wet and push out bubbles. Have 1 or 2 friends help and I use a spray bottle with a little soap so that all the watter won't run off. Use lots of watter and spray on sticker to. The pros use a bucket of soap watter for a hood deacal. <img border="0" alt="[chug]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_chug.gif" />

soap actually depends on the manufacturer of the decals.....some say use a 50/50 solution of distilled water and alcohol. It depends on the type of material I believe....the better quality stripes and decals will have you use the water/alcohol mix....this is because the material is permeable and lets the alcohol evaporate throught it. your best to ask who you made the purchase from.
If you do have permeable decals, as I do, then if you get a couple of bubbles that you just can not seem to work out, after letting it bake in the sun the next day, they will be gone. Durring my stripe install, when I was putting the black piece in the hoodscoop, it looked so bad I almost ripped it back off....even after working on it for an hour squeegeing the bubbles out....I let it bake in the sun, and now looks for a full day, and now it looks great.
But, yes you do apply them to a wet surface....very wet. I actually used a spray bottle, and sprayed the **** out of the where i was applying the decal, and the back of the decal was well, then flipped it over onto where it goes.
Hope this helps. Feel free to email me if you need to.
