Default Custom Dash Clusters

Ok, I just have a question for you guys who have made your own custom dash clusters with Autometer Gauges. I want to make a custom Set up

Ok so below is how the gauges will be arranged in the dash. with the spedo being at the top center. "But wait?" you might be asking were is your fuel gauge. Well it will be in the center vent arranged like what I have at the bottom

EDT: Going to draw it in paint real fast. Its not showing up right

If it wasnt late, and I wasnt so tired I would photoshop it and make everything look better. But Im tired and feeling lazy so I used paint with no real care about scale or size

Center Vents

(Wideband 02 Left Bank) (Fuel Gauge) (Wideband 02 Right Bank)

Now my question is this. As far as I know the aftermarket gauges do not have an odometer. Not wanting to damage my stock cluster will the brains on my car still be able to clock the Miles I put on her. Say I take the stock cluster out. Drive it for a 3k Miles and decide I want to put the stock cluster back in. Will the stock cluster reset and add the 3k miles? I do want to keep accurate miles on her so I dont lose track. Thakn you

If im not mistaken the odometer keeps track of the mileage, not the pcm. I have noticed people saying that if you swap clusters from one car to another, that the mileage cannot be changed in the newly installed cluster due to this issue...... Just what I've read in threads, no personal experience....

i recently swapped out my gauges from the 115 mph cluster to the 155 mph and switching over the odomoter was no problem at all now im not to sure how it would work with custom gauge set ups like ur talking about but it can be done

Why not just have a shift light?

i personally wouldnt have gauges taking up all of my vents and ive never liked the big tachs (had one on my old elco). I figure if youre gonna redo your gauges, put your gauges there (as opposed to having to look down for the mph, right for the tach, down/right for the a/f. etc etc etc)

Then again, your car looks to more race-inspired than mine; i like a more stockish look with the neat stuff hidden.

I'm with you. I like slight, small tasteful mod's that have a stock feel but make a difference and serve a purpose.

I'm going to have a shift light hidden in the vent hole on the bottom of the A-pillar and only a 3 gauge pillar pod for my D1SC build. I bought a Aeroforce Scan gauge so I'll be set on plenty of parameters.

You are right on the money, I am building her up for Time Attack and Road Course. I love turns and hills, that is why im getting ride of my full spool soon. I also want to be able to drag race her once in a while as well.
