Default Seat Cooler

Ever seen those fan driven car seat coolers?

Does anyone know of an aftermarket seat with built in coolers? I don't want to have to deal with a slipping mat-like cover all the time.

you might be able to remove the guts of that cooler and insert it in the stock seat. The air would flow through perforations. I'm sure its possible.

Some of the high cars have them. Some BMW's and I know you can get them on the Navigator.

I think of these everytime I see an air hockey table. If you could get that amount of air out of the perforations in a seat no more crack sweat even on the hottest of days

The idea I was thinking about a few years ago is similar to the method used in a space suit. Have a rubber directional tubing mesh with liquid running through it, embedded in the seat (leather/cloth, thin foam layer, mesh, thick seat support foam). Liquid gets pulled from reservoir/passive[and/or fan cooled] radiator, runs through pump, gets pushed through mesh, and gets pulled by pump back into the radiator. The primary issue is leaks, but I have a feeling that OEMs use a system that goes along these lines and so far I haven't heard about a lot of people complaining (perhaps they just use [cold] air and not liquid). The secondary issue is weight. There is no doubt in my mind that this system would work great at cooling, but as far as practicality in a performance-oriented car, I am somewhat doubtful...

But, the link that RedVertTA posted above looks like it does something similar or exactly the same. ^ I would just try to take one of those apart and have the guts of that installed under the leather. Seems like that just pumps air, which will provide a mild cooling effect but will not be as drastic as a water-based system.

The second link I posted is liquid cooled. Look under bullet number 4.
