Default Blacking Out a T/A

I drive a 2001 black M6 Trans Am, not WS-6, and i want to make it all black pretty much, instead of clear corners, have them black, blacked out rear lights, blacked out front foglights and daytime runners as well. that and deep black window tint, and possibly paint some interior parts glossy black. Where can i go to find the blackouts for the lights on the rear, or the corner lenses? Has anyone used VHT nightshades for this sort of thing? Opinions, guidance, and comments are all welcome.

I have heard of many people using the VHT nightshades. They have all pretty much said that it works good. The only caution I would give you is that this stuff is very very thin and prone to drip marks. When you use it just make sure you use very thin, light coats. Just build them up untill you get the desired color.

I have seen 2 T/A's that painted the inside of the tail lights. pulled the lenses apart and paint the inside. Gives it the custom look of a "stock" blacked out light. And it may fool some cops!! I have allso seen different cars that sand and polish the lights and then use VHT blackshades. Looks sweet

I have balckouts on the taillights of my black Formula. I am also considering blacking out the rest of the lights. I got the taillight covers from AutoZone for $40. They had to order it, but it only took 3 days. PepBoys has them too. They are made by AutoVentshade (http://www.autoventshade.com/). The Camaro and Mustang covers are right on the shelf; Firebird stuff almost always isn't.

I prefer covers or replacement lenses over painting/tinting. This is because I can easily return to stock if need be. (Plus it hides a shatterd taillight.)

Thanks for the info VIP1, i have a friend working at O'Reillys, so i'm going to try to get them through them instead of autozone or pepboys, that is, if they have them <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> .

BlackDeathTA,
Glad to be of help.

345-hp Blender,
That would be neat. I would like to make a KITT replica (a 3rd gen of course). I wish there was a one piece taillight blackout available for 4th gen Firebirds. ( like this: http://users.rcn.com/my57chevy/taillights.jpg )

what is VHT nightshade? never heard of it.
Some people have had success using testors tint paint on the lenses, I myself wasn't able to pull it off. But it's worth a mention
