A couple of questions for detailing pros: My mother (who can't drive), decided to hit my car with her car. It looked scuffed up, but I couldn't feel the scratches with my fingernail, so I decided I would try out my new Porter Cable (with megs 105 and orange pad). My first question is, after washing the spot. I clayed the area and NOTHING seemed to be in the clay, it looked brand new. The area is RIGHT next to the tire, so there should be SOMETHING, right? I had to do this in the sun, as I need to clean the garage out, so I didn't expect a great outcome, especially with the notoriously quick drying m105, but I got a lot of the scuffs out, yet a simple water spot that was also compounded over didn't change at all. Is the root of my problem the fact that I didn't remove the wax with dawn? I figured since I was just doing this one little 1x1 spot that the clay would be plenty fine. Like I said this was a quick fix, done in the sun so I know it's not going to be great but I'm still puzzled.
