Making GFx withstand heat? Sometime in the future I'll be doing my true duals out the side (through some Camaro RS gfx) and I was wondering: if I get the tips Jet-Hot coated, will that be enough to ensure the gfx won't melt or anything? Anyone have any experience with this? BTW, as a visual, it would look alot like the side exits on Rousche's (sp?) Thanks guys.
The softening point of ABS and polyurethane (not sure what they're made out of) is on average between 200-240 degree F. I don't think you will have a problem, even if the you don't coat them.
Haven't you ever seen those SS's with the monster tailpipes resting against the rear bumper? I've seen quite a few, and those haven't melted, so you I don't think you'd have a problem.

where are you going to run the pipes?
unless you modify the stock ground effects, and make them lots lower, there is no room for pipes to come through them, well, without cutting the sheet metal under the door.

Yeah I'm not sure how this could work. There is literally NOTHING there to mount to/through. The stock ground effects wrap around from the bottom of the door, to metal underneath the car. Have you checked it out yet? On top of this, you will have 0 ground clearance, so lowering the car will be out of the question. Unless this is a track only car....but from your pic, I wouldn't say it is.
