True red lights

I have a 98 T/A.The guage cluster lights up an orangish red from the factory.I want a true red.Ok I got custom overlay from 6LE so the lights would shine a true color.I bought some red led bulbs from superbright.I put them in and to me they still look orangish.Called them and they said that is all they got.Does anybody know how I can get a TRUE RED? Thankx

There's a film on your T/A's gauges that you need to peel off first before you put on the 6LE ones. That film is what makes your red LEDs look orange.

Did you try cleaning the back of the cluster? They should be true red from factory.
Posted at the same time as bad 408. He is exactly right.

I am very surprised that the leds didn't work out. which ones did you get? Give me a link. Also, a pic of the leds would be nice

Don't know why it isn't red though, send pics and let us know what LEDs you bought... There's a sticky in my forums in the lighting section on which ones to get...
