Hey just wanted to say congrats on getting your car in the new issue of gm hightech performance. as far as im concerned your car is already a classic in which others are judged. but anyways did anyone see the berger pictures with the old school aka 67-69 green paint on one of their cars. all i have to say is...dope!

The Berger picture is from the 2002 Power Tour and was taken by the Hot Rod staff. We were asked to run coverage of the event after the fact. We don't have to notify owners that we are running pictures of their cars, but I did post on several boards, trying to find the names of the car owners. I knew the car was a Berger car and I called Dennis Barker, but he never got back to me until well after my deadline. Steve knew his car was going to be in the magazine, I spoke to him personally about it.

This issue does happen to have two LT1s on the cover, but there is plenty of LS1-related content, including an interview with Mark Reuss, a story on SLP's new lightweight flywheel and a story on John Moss' LS1-powered Impala SS. There are also several colorful pictures of LS1 cars in the Power Tour story for people who don't like to read, as well as two LS1s in the Street Heat section, including a car owned by a member of this site. Didn't PSJ promise LS1tech.com decals for people who got the site mentioned in their Street Heat write-up?

I apologize for any trouble you might be having with your subscription. I would urge you to call our toll-free customer service number 1-800-477-7074 to get the issues you missed. I've never had a problem with my GMHTP subscription, but the same customer service center was very good about sending me several issues of HPP that I never received.

I saw the Berger car at Bowling Green and it seemed to be a brighter shade of green than BGM. Maybe I just always saw the paint in bright conditions?

Steve's story didn't mention LS1tech.com, but Cedric Mosley's did. He drives a '99 Vette and lives in Tyler, Texas. I'm not sure what his screen name here is. I actually ran into him at LGM and suggested he send a letter to Street Heat.

the green does appear to be a brighter green, since you mention it. the article with the flywheel was great. but an ls1 powered front wheel drive impala doesnt do much for me. the new gm guy seems to be a car nut so hopefully we can get some cool rear wheel drive cars that we can afford.

You just beat me to it, Andy. We were looking at his Rally Green 2002 Berger and a 69 Z together at the Camaro Superfest, and the owner agrees the colors look a bit different, but the Berger is a basecoat/clearcoat system.

I just didnt know which one -- That was quite some time ago and im not even sure if I was a mod here at the time.. I did mentiong LS1tech in my story for Super Chevy though..

Thats ok about the subscription thing.. i have the same dificulties with Hot Rod, Car Craft, etc.. I will give them a call, its a small price to pay for such a nice magazine. Maybe someday I will get my HP to a point where you guys can do a feature on the car

Oh, I went to the newstand today to get a copy and they had the January 2003 issue but I wasnt in it, so WHAT issue am I in??? lol

Love that Green Berger.. now to go polish on my new wheels

Steve, just emailed you a jpg of the page.
It's the march issue, probably not on newsstands yet.
