Hi all, thanks for your kind words and responses- good and bad! JK. It was important for us to 'hit the mark' with most folks- judging from the trial fit last Thursday everyone present was more than happy. An interesting point of note was that everyone there had already concluded the scoop needed to be wider (based on pics they had seen) BUT imediately changed their minds when they saw it in the 'flesh'. The pics really do make it hard to judge- the scoop sides look very vertical, etc. The hood was finished in primer and still had not been thru final prep, so no shine, weird shading/lighting, so on.
The grill situation is.... the earlier LT1 insert is just one of the options, we are currently looking into other ideas and refining thoughts we have AND would like to hear from you guys and gals. Remember, we are trying to stay at a reasonable $$ mark, so super, duper titanium grills will cost you folks more. However, that doesn't mean we want to use cheap junk either!
Finally, sorry we didn't live up to everyone's expectations- critisism is fine and often useful, however lets try to curb the childish nasty stuff. I'm one of several people busting our butts to help you with your problems.
Cheers,
Layne

You're doing a great job!
The grille opening is a little tall is my only concern. The rest is awesome.
My concern about the insert would go away if you sourced a resonable stock appearing grille insert or raised the floor slightly in front of the insert to match the height of the LT1 insert.
No big deal though, I like the hood and am putting it on my wish list for the moment, but I genuinely hope you come up with a nice modern 3" cowl soon because that is what I really want.
Good luck
Dave

I'll buy the hood as is, i would like it wider, but if everyone that was there agree's that it is wide enough, then i'm all about it, you can skip making a grill or screen for me, to keep the price down, i'm not sure how or what kind of screen i would want, but i want the hood on my car, i'd probably just cut out the grille and the rear of the cowl to circulate air, and have some sort of grille, or mesh grille material glassed onto the inside of both openings. I think that if you guys stick with the $475 price, thes things will sell like hotcakes, i know i am gonna get a SS, and my roomate is getting the WS6, and for that price, once everybody in the Detroit area see's these hoods, they'll wanna get one two, so i'll need flyers sent with my order, so i can hand them out at car shows.

A little wider would be nice, but I would still buy it as is. You guys did a nice *** job!! When is it available?
A stock-looking black grille would be nice. Nothing fance, just so it fits properly.

The only problem is that I don't want anyone else at car shows to have one!
I just have to have SS stripes custom made for this hood too!

Ok when?I like the look and the grill is another thing we can think about forever but the opening has to be big and something can fill it.Just don't hurry it to get it out but make it right or this bunch will be on you like " white on rice ".I want one as it is something needed for my car and keep up the good work.
