Default Backlighting in the speedo

Is the backlighting on the dash of the TA red cause of the overlay or is it a red bulb.

I was wanting a different color and was hoping it was bulb not the overlay

thanks

For the gauges it's the overlay. These are translucent displays.

If you pull the instrument cluster out of each car, pop them apart and pull off the face look at the back and you'll see the Chevy has plain white and the Pontiac has "warm red".

There are other bulbs in other areas that Pontiac's specifically have little red bulbs that are only available at the dealer (at least that's the only place I can find them) but otherwise, all use a clear/white 194 or 189 bulb for lighting.

Don't mean to hijack, but what if you wanted to get rid of all the red?! lights above door hadles, TCS, etc? Get ASR, radio, and steering wheel controls from a Camaro!?!
