I can't believe you're going to ruin that perfectly good Trans Am. The "Transmaro" idea is really weird to me; it looks so unnatural and awkward. I think the Trans Am rear suits the rest of the car very well, just as the Camaro front is a perfect complement to the rest of the body. Mixing and matching the two is just really weird to me.
That being said, I give you props on doing something different. And after all, it's your car, not mine or anyone else's. I look forward to seeing this project
Props for doing it, but your TA is beautiful. It'll be a real shame to see such a nice car get destroyed for this. Why not just use 2 donor cars, instead of 1 super nice car?
I've followed this from the paint & body work section. I kinda like the idea. Like said you were using a very generic red t/a with a bazillion miles on it. Not like your hacking up a 1 of 20 car.
I cannot wait to see the results! Good Luck!
exactly. theres nothing special about the car. i figure, why not have some fun

haha, i'm hearing the same thing from everyone around me, "what's wrong with you? you're ruining a perfectly good car!!!!". it'll turn out good. i guarantee you'll like it when its done.

gonna have to wait till later for that the color choice with the rim choice should look pretty damn nice though!

yeah, that seems like its going to be one of the hardest part of the body work. gonna have too get some junk yard doors and pull the skins off.

I know hes too cme happy not to get one of those
I definitely love the cme's, but for this car i don't think it will work. I've got something else planned for it.

money! with the car i have now, I really don't need much else. I'm going to buy a couple of doors and firebird fenders from the junk yard so i can do that body work before swapping anything from my car. but brakes, suspension, engine, tranny, and full interior, front bumper/brackets/headlights/hood are all coming from my car. i can't afford to buy all of that to just build a full second car, and to get a roller with all of that it'd also cost too much, not to mention i dont have room for another car at the house.
Maybe it's just me, but why don't you just put the rear of the Camaro on your TA. It seems like far less work to me. For that matter, it would have saved the need to even buy a donor car... You could have just bought the 7 camaro panels.

that was actually what i originally thought about doing, but the helpful folks over in the paint/body section convinced me to do it this way.
had i gone that route, it would require a lot of cutting and welding to swap quarter panels since the rear is pretty much one huge piece. the rear lights and bumper panels do not mount the same, so everything back there, the actual structures of the car, would need to be cut up and pieced back together. and hope it all fits right
