Default Help!

Fairly new SS driver with very little auto body knowledge here with a problem. I recently noticed a slight gap in my front driver's side quarter panel where it meets the front of the door as depicted in the picture. Upon further investigation, I looked under the car and noticed that it is bent where the quarter panel is bolted to the body as seen in the other pic. Now I'm guessing that the previous owner took a bump bad or something, but I guess that doesn't matter now. Has anybody experienced this? My biggest problem is how am I going to fix it. I know the quarter panel is going to have to be replaced, being fiberglass. But what about the metal piece that's bent also? As far as I could see, it's all one large piece. Can it be bent back to it's exact shape or at least near it so the new quarter panel won't stick out? I know this seems small compared to large body repair jobs, but to me it seems like a pain in the ***. Just curious before I make a claim to my insurance company, because it WILL get fixed one way or another. Thanks in advance.

Default Re: Help!

This is more common than the common cold. It happens when it is jacked up incorrectly. Either bring it to a body shop and have them bend the tab back or do it yourself. Oh, and your fender isn't fiberglass, it's a polymer type plastic.
