Default Average price for hood paint/prep?

I'm thinking of ordering a hood from VFN after my new round of mods get paid off. How much does it usually cost to have a hood prepped and painted? Thanks in advance.

When i had my SS hood put on it was 465 for shipping on the hood, and painting/prepping/fitting of the hood. They also had to colorblend the front fenders which they threw in for that price as well.

You should expect to pay anywhere from $300 to $500 for prep & paint (you get what you pay for). A really good paintshop "shouldn't" have to colorblend the fenders.

When I did mine in December, hood cost 645, shipping was 110, then labor for the fitting and painting, etc. was $400 (but 20 hrs of labor) So yeah. I guess my shop wasn't the best since it had to blend with the fenders or whatever, but check out the picks in the sig., all I get are compliments. Looks Grade A++ <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />

With todays paints and colors it is almost impossible to get a good clolr match by "panel painting" anymore. The best way is to have it blended with the fenders. this way you won't have to spend a lot of time second guessing you painter.
