Default New hood?

I'm thinking about possibly getting a new hood for my Z28. I would be happy with a GM SS hood, but they are just a bit to much $$$ for me. I do like the Ultra Z hood, but its ify for me. I was thinking about this hood:

Tell me what you guys think, suggestions... or if I should keep the stock Z28 hood.

Is that the VFN cowl hood? If so, looks good. If the 5" Mike Moran cowl hood wasnt a pin on, i'd say get that one (unless it doesnt matter, either way) Looks clean tho!

How about this cowl hood...
Looks much better with the modern body lines of our cars IMO.
VFN is supposedly working on it now. Layne at VFN has not said much on it lately. I wonder how far along it is?

Thanks for the photoshop PendragonZ. I don't know why I never thought to photoshop it myself, lol. The hood looks alot better then I expected though. Yes it is made by VFN and its the 2inch cowl, I think the 4inch is way to big for our cars and just sticks out, the 2inch is a nice height and smooth. I think I'll most likly get this hood, but I'm not sure if I should get the bolt on or pin on with the hood pins?

I really like the hood on that blue camaro, but I'm sure VFN is still only thinking about the hood, so thats up in the air with me. If they do build it, I'm sure its gonna be pricey (800), if not I'd like to buy it.

As for the 5" Mike Moran cowl, and the WS6 hood, not totally a big fan of those hoods. The WS6 one does look good when a xenon body kit is also on the car.

Hey Pendragon, could you either photoshop the VFN stingray hood on his car, and make his car black, or put on on a black car, or if not, just put it on his car, i've been wondering if the stingray hood looks good on our cars, or not, but i've never seen it done yet.

Thanks

I had some free time and worked on adding a reflection and similar color to the cowl hood on my car. Actually looks good black, but since I'm gonna have it painted the color of my car I needed to have it somewhat match, so here it is :

I say get that cowl hood!!...it surely gives the car a different look...and from what I have heard...the SS style hood is usually nonfunctional and is way too much money to spend on that type of stuff!!! IMHO.....get the cowl hood...but don't go 4 inch though...that would definitely look too damn tacky!!!

I like the hood on that 'camaro. It really does flow better w/ the lines of the car. And if the 4" wasnt such an agressive look, where it looks like it just kinda "shoots" up, i think it would be a little better lookin. But i really do like the Moran 5" hood. may be overkill, but hey, only live once

If I can remember to do it later I will, the stingray
hood that is. I've been sick the past few days and
I'm still feeling rotten, but had to get up for work.

OK I couldn't resist:

The cowl hood looks badass! It makes your car very aggressive looking. You can't go wrong with either that or the Ultra Z hood. That's my personal favorite. A BIG negative on the Stingray hood. Nice photoshop work though.

Thanks Pendragon! still not sure if i like it on our cars, but i'm also not too keen on the 4" SS hood that VFN is making, i wanted something more like Jon Moss' hood, not just a remodeled stock hood, so i would probably lean towards the 2" cowl or last resort the stingray. If they were more available and didn't have to wait, and be so pricey, i really want an ultra z hood, those look sweet.

ever get around to gettin back to working on the
car. Been busy lately.
