Default dash crack

I noticed when cleaning my dash this weekend a small hairline crack maybe 2 or 3mm's. Just curious if there is any preventive measure to make sure it doesn't crack anymore?

I have one going from the defroster to the soft part of the dash that I gotta replace just cause some if the "fins" on the defroster is busted out so I'm just gonna replace. Idk what to say about yours OP. Maybe someone will come in and help you and anyone else.
