yea it should come right off just like the side moldings just throw some compound on the paint because u will still see the outline of the bird at first

Yeah I had planned on buffing the entire car. So that will come after removing side moldings and the ugly bird. lol

Wait? Do the Firebirds have side moldings like the Camaros??? Because in the pics it looks like that's just a design in the door skin...

Yes and yes. There is a side molding on the Firebird and yes there is a design on the door / fender that also make a nice demarcation as well.

The picture quality isn't the greatest, but from what I can see from the second picture I would say yes.

It doesn't matter how modded that firebird is or will get.... it will never compare to a v8 LT1/LS1. I'll tell you a little story here. I have a little bro thats your age. He daily drives a 1997 firebird with the W68 package(you know, ground effects, dual exhaust, posi rear w/3.42s)... he thought his W68 Firebird was pretty good until he test drove the LT1 t/a I had... he had just taken out for a short drive around the block... he could not stop talking about how strong my LT1 was. Then I sold my LT1 and bought my LS1 t/a. Usually I don't trust anybody to drive my Trans Am, but me. Long story short, one day he drove the LS1 from our parents house to my house and man..... He was so impressed with how strong it was, how with very little throttle it would move that he saw a world of a difference from his firebird. By the way, insurance its not that much over a v6 ....

Wow, thats severely overpriced. I just sold a '95 V6 with 125k for $2250. I know you said you don't want a V8, but you can find LT1 cars for that price all day with the same mileage.

Once again, Not around here. I live in a tourist area. This is the cheapest v6 for the money around here. And v8's with 150k are going for $5,000 and up.

Have you considered looking outside your area? Don't be afraid to travel for the right car. You're right in the middle of Tulsa, Kansas City, St. Louis, Memphis, Nashville, and Little Rock. Finding a good deal within a reasonable distance should be cakewalk.

You asked for suggestions, so we're trying to help you out. When I was 18, my older brother kept me from wasting a ton of money on modding the slow *** 305 in my '92 Camaro. Thank God I was smart enough to take his advice.

Yeah. I never really thought about traveling for the right car. Actually I did find a really sweet car last night for $3500 in Kentucky. I called the guy and it only has 118,000 miles. He said it needs spark plugs and a tune up. He also said since I live in Missouri, he would shave the price to $3200 for gas money to go get it.
Here's a link to it.

And this is just looking in your direct area bro. You really need to do some more searching on CL. $3700 might not be alot of money to some people but it really is to others. I looked for almost 2 months before I found my 2nd Fbody.

I really appreciate all the links. However, I've seen all these cars already. The silver one has a rod knock (I called the guy). The black one has paint issues and body damage, and the the two are automatics... I know I'm being picky but I'd rather have a clean lower mileage 5-speed v6 than a v8 with an auto tranny or paint and body issues. That's why I'm starting to look outside of my area. Because I've checked everything in Springfield. If anyone finds any 5-speed cars that are nice with decent mileage, let me know. Also if someone happens to come across a 6-speed with under 150xxx and with no body damage for under $4000 let me know. That's why I'm looking at this 5-speed Firebird. Because its really clean inside and out. No dents or dings. No clear coat peeling. No rips or tears. And the motor and clutch are like new. The only reason I'm selling my car is because the paint is basically ruined and it has 185xxx. Other than that, I don't mind the 5-speed v6 cars.
