A good washing. If everything doesn't come off, clay bar or bug and tar remover.

Next time mask of the rear bumper with painters tape. easy to remove and won't mess the paint up or leave residue.

WD-40 will work.

Before the track spray Pam or some nonstick cooking spray on the panels and it will come off a lot easier.

I like the orange de-greaser stuff. It works the best IMO.

Before you go wipe a thin layer of vaseline on the area. That will do the trick. When you get home just wipe it off and wash. Works like a charm.

I often wash the car the night before going to the track and put a heavy coat of wax on the quarter panels/wheel well lips and don't wipe it off. This helps keep the rubber from adhering. Then bug and tar remover afterwards.

I am actually going to the track tonight and put painters tape on the rear wheelwell openings and quarters this time.

I have used WD40 in the past and it makes such a nasty greasy mess when taking the rubber off that I had to throw away the wash mitt I was using. I prefer the "wax before/bug and tar remover after" technique.

Default Never worry about burnt rubber damaging paint again!

Hey there ~ Check out www.Cilajet.com and www.cilajetreviews.com to learn how you can easily and permanently protect your race car from burnt rubber on your fender and side panels after a fun day at the track.

Cilajet is an Aviation Grade (Boeing approved) auto paint protection that is only applied at auto dealerships. Cilajet is not like a traditional "auto paint sealant" wax or other coating commonly made available to consumers via detail facilities, paint and body shops or retail stores.

When you apply Cilajet to your vehicle the burnt rubber will not stick to your paint AND your vehicle will always have a mirror like finish that will make your race car sparkle and shine on and off the track!

Best I have used is Joe Gibbs Foaming Degreaser. Works extremely well. I found it when looking into oils, and noticed it mentioned used by the Nascar team remove rubber. Ordered a can it has been the best degreasers and rubber removers I have tried.

Called Driven Speed Clean now.

I am sure several vendors on here sell it.

Charcoal lighter fluid. Rinse well after. Won't hurt the paint.

I know this is a little off subject but I got a huge patch of spent tire in my wheel well after dropping it off at the mechanic's shop for one night. Can't trust anyone these days. In any case this thread was helpful, thanks.
