Default How do u clean burnt rubber

How do I clean the burnt rubber from my rear panel?? I went to the track and of coarse I heated up the tires and afther when I got home I saw alot of black tire/rubber on my rear fender I guess(right where the tire ends). I just want to know how to clean it off....

A good washing. If everything doesn't come off, clay bar or bug and tar remover.

ive always had good luck with tar remover, it takes a little bit but it comes off without harming the paint

Next time mask of the rear bumper with painters tape. easy to remove and won't mess the paint up or leave residue.

WD-40 will work.

Before the track spray Pam or some nonstick cooking spray on the panels and it will come off a lot easier.

I like the orange de-greaser stuff. It works the best IMO.

all of the above...and/or a power washer...works like a champ! i never used any cleaner...i just used my power washer and it came off...but...painters tape does work better then all

Before you go wipe a thin layer of vaseline on the area. That will do the trick. When you get home just wipe it off and wash. Works like a charm.

I often wash the car the night before going to the track and put a heavy coat of wax on the quarter panels/wheel well lips and don't wipe it off. This helps keep the rubber from adhering. Then bug and tar remover afterwards.

I am actually going to the track tonight and put painters tape on the rear wheelwell openings and quarters this time.

I have used WD40 in the past and it makes such a nasty greasy mess when taking the rubber off that I had to throw away the wash mitt I was using. I prefer the "wax before/bug and tar remover after" technique.

Best I have used is Joe Gibbs Foaming Degreaser. Works extremely well. I found it when looking into oils, and noticed it mentioned used by the Nascar team remove rubber. Ordered a can it has been the best degreasers and rubber removers I have tried.

Called Driven Speed Clean now.

Charcoal lighter fluid. Rinse well after. Won't hurt the paint.

I know this is a little off subject but I got a huge patch of spent tire in my wheel well after dropping it off at the mechanic's shop for one night. Can't trust anyone these days. In any case this thread was helpful, thanks.
