clear corners with no water or moisture problems?
clear corners with no water or moisture problems? i already bought two pairs from ebay, as soon as it rains or wash the car, they fill up with water. makes car look like crap. i have tried sealing them, and i know the bulbs are setting in correctly. if you dont have this problem, please tell me where you got yours and what brand, cost does not matter.

all you need to do is get some clear silcone rtv sealant and go around the edges. smooth it in the seams with your finger. they dont do a good job sealing them from the factory. anytime you buy aftermarket lights do this. if done right it will do the trick.

I have had my clear corners from Afterthoughts Auto for quite a while, around 2 years at least, and they have not had any leaking issues. None. It seems like 90% of the people who have them have problems though so I guess I am one of the lucky ones. Mine are also the clear diamond ones, not the clear stock looking ones but I don't know if that makes a difference.

Last time I posted my solution, I got laughed at..... but here it goes. I've had mine for almost a year, off ebay. this is the link to the ones I bought:

I installed my clears and ran my car to the car wash, and as soon as I was done rinsing the car off, the clears had water in them. I realized that the water is coming in from the TOP of the lens, where the bulb screws in (mine sat a little loose). Right above that area is where the bumper and bottom of the headlight meet, and there is a gap. If you stick your hand in that gap, you will feel the wire harness for the bulb to the turn signal. I went under the car and went over the the top part of the clear corner housing with tape, in all directions..... and guess what? PROBLEM SOLVED. I really don't think that you need to go around the edges with silicone, although it couldn't hurt. I didn't.
So, like I said, last time I got flamed
for posting this but it worked for me. Good luck!

I dont know why people always have problems with thier clear corners. I bought those cheap ones from afterthought and been through 2 winters and summers with them with no problems or drill holes in them. Guess Im lucky eh?
