Default Some under the hood stuff..

I'm thinking about painting my intake, along with hood struts, and swapping out my old wires looms for some newer and more flashy colored ones. My car is red with an SLP lid, and I cannot seem to find what color to go good with it. We all know black goes with red, and that being said, all the options are already black! I was considering a blue, but it may have to be lighter, any red-colored fbody guys that have done this or given it a fair bit of thought?

While I support the cleaning/sanding/painting of intakes and maybe even your struts, I advise against the new loom (other than black). Before you think I've got a 4x4 up my ****, some contrast is alright, while other is just poor choices... Even red color loom would look bad in MY opinion. Before anyone bashes for my minimalist view on this, remember, Brd asked... New shiney, clean loom WILL improve the appearance though. Consider cloth/braided loom? Check this ...

Ouch! My eyes hurt. I would do black and if paint anything. Just a little here and there (valve covers, intake) to give it a nice touch

Same loom I use and its the best stuff out there hands down in my opinion. Its a little expensive but the benefits to it are worth it. Looks good, if fluid gets on it they will drain off and not collect. Also dirt doesnt get trapped as easy in it too.

Thanks for the input guys, I can't afford a FAST intake yet, BUT I do like that color(on the rails), and has anyone painted the stock rails? I like that idea of the blue, seems like it'd freshen it up a bit. And also, I like the idea of just replacing the black with new black, and even the mesh would seem to create a bit more space.

I'd like to see a write-up on how to get that stuff on with the branches like in that Vette. It looks good and smaller than the regular loom, but I'm not ready to dive on it until I see how it works.

To the OP: Colored looms is ok in extreme moderation. Consider the "chrome loomz." (Google it as typed) I'd also look into stainless braided hoses and lines as a more functional and better looking alternative.
