I had plenty of room for mine. My exhaust guy worked really hard on my setup and we were bouncing ideas off of each other throughout the install and what we came up with was swelling the 90* elbows so that the ends of the elbows fit snugly inside the ends of the tip, but still allowed movement. This allowed me to move the tip side to side and up and down to get it exactly where I wanted it and I used 2.5" band clamps to secure it instead of welding it. However, I did weld the elbows to the tailpipes so that the connection would be solid there.

idk if it is me, or the angle of the pic, but it looks like the inside of your right tip is bent up.

I'm thinking the problem is that the tips are bent up a lil. were they bent like that before they installed them? are they used tips?

They were used because they were oem. But they were not bent up before, I think the picture just makes it look that way. The gap is definitely much larger in between the tips.
