Default Dumb Question

I am running a MAF-less tune and would like to lose the MAF. I know guys out there are running a straight piece of rubber hosing, but don't know what/where to get it at.

Anyone that has done this please chime in and give me a helping hand.

Thanks, Mike

I did exactly what you're talking about. I don't know what TB & Lid you're running, so you might be slightly different from me. I was running a FTP 98mm lid and a Holley 90mm TB. The outside diameter was 4". I ran a 6" long tube from the lid to the TB with a little trimming on the top of the tube on the TB side to allow for the angle change.

Here is a pic:

Link for the tubes.

What are the pros and cons to a MAF-less tune?

This is not the place for it...do a search for "Speed Density Tune"

I was just looking for a simple answer, not a college course. Thanks anyway, you were a big help.

You're welcome. I thought you would get more info from a search.

The two best thing I got out of it was better throttle response and eliminating that annoying MAF as a problem causer.

Short answer: more power with a SD Tune,

The rubber hose is called "fernco," I believe.

WS.666- engine bay looks phenominal. Kudos.

There is no simple answer bud, take a peak in the PCM section and like stated look up "Speed Density".

FERNCO is the thick rubber hosing you buy at Lowe's. I was looking for the thinner walled stuff.

Thanks for everything guys!

If you can't find it anywhere look on ebay. I needed a grommet for my wire mod, couldn't find ANY at the 4 stores I went to. Bought one on ebay and had it in 2 days.
