A4 shifter **** rattle

I have a 01 SS and when I get up to speed on the interstate I have to keep my hand on the shifter to keep the rattle from driving me crazy. Has anyone else had a problem with this and are there any tricks to fixing it? Thanks.

Let me know if it works. I took mine off yesterday but I couldn't figure out why it would be rattling.

I fixed mine by pulling the black square plastic cap off, putting a dab of clear silicone on the white plastic button, and replacing the cap. Worked like a champ, and hasn't rattled since.
