Default cowl hood engine bay temps

I was just curious as to how much a cowl hood is suppose to reduce engine bay temps by. Im sure it varies depending on applications but just a rough estimate.

Well, I would guess that it would depend on how much heat is being generated, whether it's a NA setup vs. supercharged vs. turbo charged being least to most heat generated.

I would guess that it also depends on the color of the hood as well.

If I had to put a number range on it, I'd say it would drop temps rougly 20-30 degrees.

When I was shopping around for my aftermarket hood I did some research on this, and from what I found is that openings in the hood are designed to flow cool air into the engine bay while extracting hot air that is currently in the engine bay.

I watch heat dissipate at lights and when parked.
