Wow, a clay bar should remove those remains unless the paint is stained. Where do you live? If Florida I know that those love bug outbreaks in May and Sept will permanently stain paint if not removed quickly.

Paint Thinner will take them off, and as long as your paint isn't new it will not harm it. Just don't let it sit on the paint very long. Wipe on wipe off

the paint is a year old lol and the bugs have been on there for a couple weeks now. i live in phoenix az but i drove from phx to oregon back down through cali and back to phx lol so theres a couple bugs on there that have been dried up. i tried a bug scrupping sponge and clay bar and it got most of it off but not all of it.

I use Bug and Tar Remover from Turtle Wax. It works great and you spray it on. I drive through a wildlife refuge along a major river to school and its bugs galore. My car is white and after weeks of driving through there, the bugs get baked on, but come off with the solution.

Get a good safe bug remover from adam's, autogeek or detailed image.

I like Einszett 1Z Anti-Insekt Bug + Tar Remover DI has it.

I've heard of guys getting a bunch of paper towels and laying them on the bug guts to let it soak, in the garage and out of the sun obviously. I guess it softens them up and makes removal easier, kinda makes sense.......

Fabric softener sheets are supposed to work well this way.

WD40 works well but I don't know what the long term effects could be on the paint.
