will AC freon kill me?!?!?!?! i am detailing my engine to the best of my capabilities being poor bc of the cam that is going in next week. and included in the cost is recharging the AC but i wanna start polishing the AC condensor on my own now, but i cant do the whole thing w/ it still connected. so i was wondering if i could just let the freon out (shhhh i know its illegal) and then take off the canister. is there any liquid running through the hoses?? will i be able to drive the car w/o the canister on the car for now, bc it is going to be recharged in 7 days. any help would be much appreciated thanks

Re: will AC freon kill me?!?!?!?! It won't kill you unless you injest it or breath a bunch of it. If you are really going to do it you should take a rag and put on some good gloves and then use something to push the pin under the plastic unscrewable cap at the condenser. The freon will blow out and be really cold. Its not in liquid form in the car and it won't really run anywhere but straight in the air LOL. It won't hurt to drive it like that, but you won't have air at all except for the fan. I'm not recommending you do this but thats probably the best way.

Re: will AC freon kill me?!?!?!?! great!! thanks alot, i just put on some rubber gloves, and put my shirt over my nose and pused the valve w/ a screw driver, then held my breathwhile it came out. nows its on its way to lookin shiney. the things that poor college kids do when their lives revolve around their cars lol.

Re: will AC freon kill me?!?!?!?! well...ive had a schraider valve stick and discharge a 16k BTU unit on me...nothing..it will give you frost bite if you dont pull away....dont inhale...but....its illegal.
Also...dont turn on the the compressor cause you will seize it from there being no oil.
