A good start is a trip to the car wash and use the "tire foam" spray. Then wash, then rinse.

Then wipe everything down and if you want you can go over the plastic parts with plastic cleaner, tire shine, or armor all type products to make it look brand new.

That's how I did my truck:

In the past I used Simple Green, then sprayed it off with low pressure water. Mop up the puddles, then sprayed with tire shine and wiped off any shiny spots.

Now I use Joe Gibb degreaser, then a tire shine.

Even my daily driver is only done about every 3-4 weeks and still looks like this. Once it is clean it is pretty simple to keep it that way. Maybe 10 minutes every 2 weeks. I know its not GM, but it is 5 1/2 years old and was driven this last winter.

Where do you guys get the chrome battery and fuse box covers? Also how difficult is it to remove the air conditioning? It really looks clean without it...

May I ask what that is right near your intake hole for your airbox? PontiacFan also has it. Does it help air enter better somehow?

Lower Airbox seal that was OE equipment on the SS/Firehawk cars.
I believe you are referring to the rubber strip along the bottom of the air inlet opening, correct?

Yes, that's what I was referring to. What is its purpose? Wouldn't it block air flow? Sorry to go off-topic, just curious.
