Will double sided tape hold tach on dash??

Will double sided tape hold tach on dash?? Looking to install my autometer tach/shift light and I don't really want to screw into my dash. Would the good 3M double sided tape used to hold ground effects on hold the tach? I was going to put it on my a pillar but I don't think it will fit with the triple pod already there.

I screwed it into the bezel around the gauge cluster, it's only a $30 part from GM.
