The only thing I can think of is it actuall the "lower air box". It is the air opening for the air box and holds the top of the radiator in place.

Re: What is the Radiator Support Assembly? I'm not sure if you need an LS1 specific support for that Camaro. I'm trying to think of someone who has converted the nose on a 93-97 Camaro over to the 98-02 nose... WAIT.

Re: What is the Radiator Support Assembly? The radiator support is the sheetmetal panel between the the framerails that the radiator attaches to. You don't have to replace this to do the LS1 front end conversion on a 93-97, unless you want to use the LS1 airbox. There are 2 major differences between the LT1 radiator support and the LS1 radaitor support. The LS1 radiator support had a dip in the center of it for the LS1 airbox to sit in and the brackets for the hood bumpers sit higher on the LS1 support. A few minor bolt holes are different, but they can just be drilled. I did the front end swap on my 93 and did replace the core support with the new style one, since my old one was wrecked anyway and I plan an LS1 swap in the future. It is a welded in part so to change it, you have to drill out all the spotwelds and weld the new one back in.
