Default water blade

i was waxing my car today and noticed some straight lined scratches on my spoiler (only my spoiler though). i thought it might have been the silicone blade i use to wash my car. is that possible? otherwise, it may have been there ever since i bought the car, because it's pretty unnoticeable, and i could see how i could clearly miss it. thanks.

Are we talking about the "water blade" that drys the excess water off? or is there one that you use to wash the car with?

If it's the one your dry with, I haven't had any problems with scratching. Just make sure before you dry your car off with it, that there isn't any "foreign" matter stuck to the blade.

A silicon drying blade CANNOT scratch your paint. It's physically impossible. Unless of course there was foreign matter on the blade. Silicon is extremely pliable and by nature will self lubricate.

I have a few marks on my spoiler and hood as well. It's is the water blade, but not the blade itself. It's the purple plastic part you hold that makes the scratches/marks. Can't really blame the product, it was my own fault.

Now I just use it quickly to get some of the bigger spots, then go over with a microfiber cloth. I've gotta buff the car out when I get a chance to get rid of those annoying marks.

i have never touched the part you hold to my spoiler or any part of my car. those marks must have been something that was done to the car before i owned it. they are only visible in the direct light, so i could have easily missed them. i dunno why, but for some reason, knowing you didn't do something bad to my car is relieving.

Just make sure those things are clean before you swipe, any sort of build up will cause diaster....

Same with the car, if there is ANYTHING on it to begin with the blade will just pull it down the finish!
