Default how to remove my stock grill without causing damage?

Thanx for replying!

I'm wanting to remove my stock grill on my 00 SS, the stock one that has CAMARO on it. I'm wanting to paint it gloss black with clear coat to match my paint and I will fill it in with chrome CAMARO letters, how do I remove this baby without causing damage???

Thanx, Mikie

well many people say "just pull hard" but the way use should do it is with this crazy puller tool. They are called clip pullers, slide under the clip and as you push the handels together the slide piece pulles up! No damage and clip is still good. Any good body shop should have them!

So you want to remove and REINSTALL the OEM Camaro grille. Well to do that and be able to reinstall it, is to remove the entire nose of the car. I sounds very diffictult but it is easy. It is just that the parts are HUGE to move around!

1. remove headlights
2. disconnect bulbs from front parking lights
3. remove all of the 10mm bolts from bottom of nose
4. pull out (at the bottom) the 3 "pop rivit" type plastic fasteners at the center of the nose
5. pull out the 5 "pop rivit" type plastic fasteners at the top in the front.
6. behind each head light are three 10 mm. nuts (facing the ground) where the nose joins the fender.
7. the nose should gently pull off now.

To remove the grille

1. remove the 3 10mm nuts
2. remove the 3 friction fasteners
3. carefully pull the grille out

Reinstall in the reverse. I think I got everything. To be extra careful you could cover edges and ends with blue masking tape to protect them from any bumps and scrapes while you are working.

I didnt use a tool or take it to a bodyshop! All I did was take on of the ends and push it in towards the otherside of the car and it popped out. Did the same for the other side, then just pulled the rest of it out by the front of it. It is pretty flexible.
