Hood Won't Shut...

After almost a year of waiting my LS1 is finally ready to be fired but now the hood refuses to shut.

It's an 00' LS1 going into a 96' Camaro.

I'd definitely rather not buy a brand new hood but that might be my only option. Do any of you guys know anything about hoods to make it fit or anyone I could talk to about getting a new hood for a decent price?

Are you trying to put 98+ Camaro hood on a 96 Camaro?? Or did i read it wrong??

*EDIT* I read wrong!!! Sorry! Im half Polish, and it shows sometimes. lol

How does it "refuse to shut"?
Bad alignment/fitment?
Is it bent?
Is the latch broken?
Is the engine sitting to high preventing the hood from closing?

I had a 1994 camaro, and the hood latch on the bottom was worn out and refused to shut the hood. You might want to replace that. Once I replaced that the hood shut nicely.

The guys intalling the engine said the clearance issue is near the wind shield. I'm somewhat frantically calling them and others to collect information. The last thing I want to do is spend big $ for something that doesn't improve performance.

I'll try to update more info as it comes in if anyone is willing to offer their knowledge/experience.
