Default Plastic triangle piece behind door window on TA

Hello all!
I have a black TA and I try my best to keep it looking as good as possible. BUT, ever since I got it there has been a problem spot. On both sides the little triangle piece behind the bottom of the door windows have a strange look to them. The best way to put it is there is an oily film on them that gives off a very slight bluish/purplish tint. I've tries washing and scrubbing and it won't cone off. What can I do to restore them??

Thanks for your help!!

You can get some polished stainless steel inserts with various designs on them from emblem pros

That's a good observation; I wonder if people are choosing to paint that or do something else with it?

That paint looks great! Actually better than what I hoped to achieve. Could you please tell me you steps you did?? (could you be specific on what brands and grits you used and maybe where you can get them)
Thanks so much!!

When we painted the car we just used a red scuff pad to ruff it up and sprayed it black with a couple coats of clear. I also did my door handles and rear tail section between the taillights.

Just pry them off carefully. They have double sided tape holding them on. When you put them back on use 3M red double sided tape works great!

Exactly. No need to sand them down or paint unless they are too far gone.

What compound did you use? I have Meguires Ultimate Compound and Mother's wax compound, hopefully one of those will work. Also, did you do it by hand?

M105 on an Orange Lake Country CCS pad Followed up by M205 on a Black Lake Country CCS pad. Then sealed.

I used my PC 7424XP.

Ultimate compound is a great OTC product and you should be able to introduce some great clarity back into them by hand with patience.
