Re: NEED HELP: Question about removing driverside air bag!!!!!
if you cut that wire you are risking blowing that air bag up and good luck trying to splice any air bag circuit back together. it's not a good idea. the back of the driver's side air bag has a yellow wire running into it. there's an outlet type clip pushed into the top of it, pull this out and gently pull the connector out of the airbag, and by the way you should disconnect the battery, pull the airbag fuse to let the capacitor die, and then attempt this, and if you're trying to pull the passenger side air bag you must drop the dash to do so. all air bag wires are yellow so as long as you don't send any kind of current through them you're okay, and one last thing, it's always smart to ground yourself out before handling an airbag, even a small amount of static electricity from your finger can blow an airbag, if you don't believe me rub your feet on the carpet and pick up your disconnected airbag. hope this helps, treat the damn thing like it's a ticking bomb cause that's what it is.
