Best way/tips on cleaning engine bay Sup all, I really need to clean my engine bay. What type of cleaners are best, do you powerwash or just use a house hose? What do I have to cover up? Help before I can't start my motor, <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: Best way/tips on cleaning engine bay Try to locate some CD2. It comes in two cans. One is a cleaner/degreaser, and the other is a protectant, which really shines up the engine compartment. That is what I use. You can probably find it at Pep Boys or some place like that! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: Best way/tips on cleaning engine bay All i did was take my car to the superwash and sprayed the engine with soap when the car was off and close the hood. I washed the rest of the car and then re opened the hood and rinsed it off and let it dry. Once i got home i took some Meguires engine degreaser(the sheets in the black tubes) and wiped it all down, then i took the wipes for the rubber conditioner and went over everything and it looks just as nice as it did when i bought it brand new. I would'nt try this though if you have opti spark(93-97)
Re: Best way/tips on cleaning engine bay I (like many here) use simple green and a hose.. spray on the SG let it sit for a min and then hose off.. use high pressure on the block and low pressure on the sensitive areas (fuse box, CPU, Coil packs) and you should be fine.
to finish the job I blow most of the water out with a 200mph leaf blower and then compressed air.. towel dry and then detail <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
