But it's wheel related so I figured I'd start here. The other day I heard a knocking sound coming from the rear left of my t/a when I was pulling back into my usual parking lot. I took a look and discovered that three of the lugs were completely missing, the chrome air cap was stolen, and the remaining chrome lug caps had been taken. It looks like someone actually went through the trouble of trying to pull off one of the wheels, because I torque them down hard as all hell whenever I swap them so I know from personal experience they wouldn't come loose. Added to that, the other chrome touches like the air cap and lug caps had been taken off. My question, is what size are the lugs for the 16" chrome 5-spokes available on the 98 t/a's? Can these be found at a local auto parts store or will I have to find a pontiac dealership? I'm down at school right now so I'd have to search for a dealership if that were the case.

They can be found at your local auto parts store. I would get wheel locks to ensure this doesnt happen again or you might not be so luckly next time. Your lucky the wheel didnt come off while driving.

I know we @ our Chevy/Caddy dealer offer locking lugs, but only 4 in a set...so you'd have to get a bunch of them if you want ALL of them to be locking (which wouldn't look too cool, imo) As much as you want your car to be shiney and attention getting, maybe getting a set of cheap-o looking lugs would be a best bet untill you go to actually show off the car, then swap the chromies on...

Just a thought

I think the size is 19mm, I dont know the thread pattern. TireRack sent me a cheap set of plain lug nuts and they actually fit on a friend's Ford Taurus wagon, so its a common thread pattern.
